Cambridge indie band Hamfatter have received £75,000 of funding from Dragons’ Den entrepreneur Peter Jones.
In return Peter Jones will earn 30% of everything the band make. Musicians don't make much money as it is these days and most just do it for the love of making music rather than as a path to wealth. Undoubtedly £75,000 will do a lot to help raise the profile of Hamfatter but is 30% of EVERYTHING they make including merchandise, ticket sales etc just too much to be handing over?

Well sometimes you believe in your band so much and you think that the only thing stopping you is founding (which is sometimes is)
I say fair play to them, they obviously made an impression on him..
Granted they spend the money well (and are talented, I'm yet to hear them) they could be ok, even after 30% has been chopped off...

Who, knows, they may even split up and he'll never see his money again (although I'm sure there's some contract against this)
